Exceed 3,000 meters with a trek up to 3,340 meters for a close-up view of Etna’s summit craters.
Our certified guides are ready to accompany you on this adventure and explain every detail and curiosities about the scenery you’ll encounter. From the summit vents, we’ll descend on foot to an altitude of 3,000 meters, from which we’ll return to Piano Provenzana by the same means of transport.

Information about the excursion
- Period: All year round
- Departure: from Piano Provenzana,
if you booked with Pick-Up service, departure will be from your accommodation. - Minimum age: Free for children under 3, 50% discount for children under 10

- Duration: 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
- Equipment provided: Nordic walking poles, helmets, and flashlights
- Clothing required: Hiking shoes and windbreaker, water (at least 1 liter)

Helpful tips
- We ask you to bring hiking shoes and a windbreaker (can be rented on site for €8.00 per person); clothing appropriate for the season; water (at least 1 liter); and snacks.
- Nordic walking poles, helmets, and flashlights will be provided free of charge.
- The tour is free for children under 3, and a 50% discount for children under 10.
- In winter, the trek will be done with snowshoes.
- The experience may vary due to weather conditions.

How to get to Piano Provenzana:
- From Catania - Take the Catania ring road and continue on the A18 Catania-Messina motorway until the Fiumefreddo di Sicilia exit. From there, follow the signs for Linguaglossa. Once in Linguaglossa, follow the Via Mareneve which will take you directly to Piano Provenzana.
- From Taormina - Take the A18 Messina-Catania motorway and exit at Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, then follow the signs for Linguaglossa and continue along Via Mareneve until Piano Provenzana. - Distance from Catania: approx. 48 km, 1 hour's drive
- Distance from Taormina: approx. 35 km, 55 minutes' drive
