Etna excursion
This excursion to Etna will leave you speechless: an adventure tour with an exciting itinerary where we will discover the highest volcano in Europe. The road we will take to reach the peaks of the volcano is the famous Mareneve (recognized by National Geographic among the 70 most evocative routes to travel by bike). Along the route that will take us to the northern side of Etna, one of our expert guides will explain the stories and legends of the Etna villages and the volcano. Before starting our excursion, we will make a short stop at the refuge (1500m), here we will show you the itinerary while sipping a good coffee and for those who do not have them we will rent trekking shoes for free. Our Etna adventure begins with a visit to the evocative eruption of October 27, 2002, which destroyed the Piano Provenzana ski facilities and a large part of the Ragabo Pineta. Continuing along paths that wind through the undergrowth between pines, birches and lava flows we will reach landscapes and the peaks of the lateral craters which offer breathtaking scenery. The last stop on our tour of Etna is the Grotta dei Ladroni, a lava flow tunnel where, equipped with helmets and torches, we will go inside to discover its formation and its history.Lunch break
Once the excursion on Etna is over, we will head to the Alcantara Gorges which we will visit in the afternoon, we will stop for lunch in the beautiful structure of Sciara, where pinsas accompanied by glasses of Etna wine will be waiting for us directly in the old renovated millstone, where we could admire the ancient techniques of how wine was produced, tasting the delicious wines of Etna.Gole Alcantara
